Is your business newsworthy?

So many times women entrepreneurs don’t believe that their business is newsworthy and they end up blocking opportunities for massive media exposure. As a result they also block the potential for business growth and opportunities like an increase in clients, paid speaking engagements and brand partnerships.

So how do you know if your business is newsworthy? Outside of working with a team of media coaches @shesnewsworthy, here are some things to think about:

  • What makes your business unique?

  • How are you doing things differently than others in your industry and how are you solving a problem in a unique way?

  • How have you disrupted traditional business models in your industry?

  • How have you broken barriers and achieved success in your field?

In my business for example, we have changed the model of PR in Canada and made media more accessible to women entrepreneurs. The Media Success Coaching program is the first of its kind. I reinvented myself and my career in just a few years going from a newsroom to an entrepreneur. I’m passionate about equality for all women, pay transparency and inclusive marketing. I have a lot to say and a lot of opinions. Am I newsworthy? You betcha!

At the end of the day knowing how your business is newsworthy helps you stand out from the crowd and gets you booked and helps you market your business to the masses.
